MINT HILL, N.C. โ Mint Hill Mayor Brad Simmons has said he will not run for reelection, ending his six years serving as mayor.
Simmons said he served two years longer than he first planned because of COVID-19. He wanted to serve only two terms but decided to run for a third term because there were still things he wanted to get done during the pandemic, he said.ย
Simmons said he has no regrets about his time as mayor. He called serving his hometown an honor.
With Simmons stepping down in the next election, Mint Hill residents will choose new leadership.
