100 up for the Thunder
The Thunder take their surge after 14 overs. Theyโd love 30 off these couple of overs.
BOOM. Ollie Davies cracks Peter Siddle for six into the mid-wicket region. Timed it beautifully and it could be the kind of shot that kickstarts his innings.
The men in lime green bring up three figures from 14.3 overs for the loss of four wickets.

Billings gone for 24
Sam Harper has missed a stumping chance on the first ball of second ball of the 12th over.
Ollie Davies dances down the track and misses an armball but Harper canโt take the bails. Should have taken that.
Wicket. Sam Billings reverse sweeps Doug Warren and is caught by Tom Curran on the rope. Sharp catch low to the ground. The Thunder just canโt get on a solid run here.

Thunder 3-70 off 10
Sam Billings is the set batter with 23 off 20. Ollie Davies slow off the mark tonight, five off 10.
Gilkes out for 28 as Maxwell has a bit to say
The Thunder lose their third wicket with Matt Gilkes holing out at long-on from the bowling of Usama Mir.
Glenn Maxwell takes a pretty simple catch and turns around to someone in the crowd and gives them a serve.
Classic stuff. Shows what it means to Maxwell.
Highly recommend reading Dan Brettigโs piece on Maxwell from yesterday if you get a chance.
โI think Maxwell could have caught that with his eyes closed,โ says Doug Bollinger on the SEN Radio broadcast.

Thunder 2-48 after six overs
Sam Billings is on fire early, hitting a couple of reverse sweeps to the boundary. Thatโs one way to ask questions of the Stars.
A reasonable start considering the duck to Warner. A tidy over from Maxwell, who concedes just three runs from his first over. A crucial 10-over block coming up.

Weibgen out for 11
Oh dear. Hugh Weibgen clips one straight back to Stars leg-spinner Usama Mir.
Simple catch. Lack of foot movement. The 20-year-old looks annoyed and rightly so.

Play is back on
Dougyโs rage didnโt last! Players are back on the field. The match has been reduced to 19 overs a side.
Weibgen is facing Peter Siddle, who is double his age (20 vs 40).

โThis is absolutely ridiculousโ: Weโre off for lightning
Youโve got to laugh. Players are walking off the field due to lightning. No rain though. Conditions fine. A few lightning strikes in the distance.
It might be in the rule book but you canโt help but feel that play could continue. Frustrating for fans.
โThis is absolutely ridiculous,โ says former Australian quick Doug Bollinger in commentary for SEN Radio. โLetโs use commonsense guys. Sun is out on more than half the ground. This is just a waste.โ

Gilkes and Weibgen doing a good job
Matt Gilkes and Hugh Weibgen are working hard to turn the strike over and consolidate after that early Warner wicket.
SIX. Gilkes gets going with a wonderful shot into the leg side. Clean strike that.
Slight misfield from in the deep from the Stars as Weibgen gets a boundary behind square.
Thunder 1-25 after three overs (Gilkes 14, Weibgen 9)
Warner gone for a duck
Boom. Winner takes all (not quite, just a spot in another finals match on Friday against the Sixers).
Tommy Curran with the ball in hand from the northern end of ENGIE Stadium. Warner to face the first ball.
First ball: dot.
Second ball: wide โฆ WICKET!
Scenes. David Warner hits one straight to Marcus Stoinis at short cover. Looks like it held up in the wicket. Worst possible start for the Thunder after being sent into bat.
