WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump announced that he will deliver an address to the nation on Wednesday night.
The Republican president announced his plans on Tuesday via his social media site Truth Social. He is expected to speak live from the White House at 9 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
“My Fellow Americans: I will be giving an ADDRESS TO THE NATION tomorrow night, LIVE FROM THE WHITE HOUSE, at 9 P.M. EST. I look forward to “seeing” you then,” he said on Truth Social. “It has been a great year for our Country, and THE BEST IS YET TO COME!”
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said that the president will discuss what he accomplished this year, the first of his second term, and lay out the plans for the next three years.
“It’s going to be a really good speech,” Leavitt said at the White House on Tuesday.
The address will arrive less than a year before the 2026 midterm elections. It also comes days after a new AP-NORC poll showed that Trump’s approval rating on the economy and immigration has fallen substantially since March.
