President Trump’s address will interrupt some of Wednesday’s primetime programming for Eastern and Central time zones, which includes two major season finales.
WASHINGTON โ President Donald Trumpย announced Tuesday that he will deliver an address to the nation on Wednesday night.
The Republican president announced his plans via his social media site Truth Social. He is expected to speak live from the White House at 9 p.m. ET on Wednesday. ย
This could complicate the TV viewing plans for reality and game show fans who live in the Eastern and Central Time zones as Trump’s address will fall right in the middle of two season finales: “Survivor” and “The Floor.”ย
All four broadcast networks plan to carry the speech and pre-empt their primetime schedules to air it live. You can also watch the president’s speech live on this website.ย
Trump speech to interrupt ‘Survivor’ and ‘The Floor’ finales
CBS plans to interrupt the three-hour finale of Season 49 of “Survivor” to air the president’s speech on Wednesday. The network confirmed the finale, which starts at 8 p.m. ET, will โresume where it left off immediately following the presidentโs address for Eastern and Central time zone viewers.โ
Fox’s two-hour season finale of “The Floor,” which begins at 8 p.m. ET, will also be pre-empted by Trump’s speech. It’s expected that the game show’s finale will pick up where it left off when Trump finishes speaking.ย
Trump’s address will interrupt the “Christmas in Nashville” special on NBC and the “iHeartRadio Jingle Ball 2025” on ABC.ย
The primetime programming won’t be interrupted for those in Mountain and Pacific time zones. ย
The White House confirmed the president’s address will discuss what he accomplished this year, the first of his second term, and lay out the plans for the next three years.ย
“It’s going to be a really good speech,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said at the White House on Tuesday.ย
The address will arrive less than a year before the 2026 midterm elections. It also comes days after a new AP-NORC poll showed that Trump’s approval rating on the economy and immigration has fallen substantially since March.ย
