WASHINGTON, D.C., USA โ As Tuesday marks one year into President Donald Trump’s second term, more than 44,000 people have signed up to attend over 1,200 walkouts across the countryย in protest against the administration.
The Women’s March Network, the largest feminist nonprofit in the United States, is organizing the “Free America” walkout nationwide on Jan. 20 at 2 p.m. local time. The protest will take place on the anniversary of Trump’s inauguration.
“One year into Trumpโs second regime, we face an escalating fascist threat: ICE raids on our communities, troops occupying our cities, families torn apart, attacks on our trans siblings, mass surveillance, and terror used to keep us silent,” Women’s March said on the walkout’s website. “A free America begins the moment we refuse to cooperate. This is not a request. This is a rupture. This is a protest and a promise. In the face of fascism, we will be ungovernable.”
