Jockey Tim Clark will be out to make an impact at Hawkesbury on Thursday where he has four solid rides on the nine-race card.
Clark will link with co-trainers Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott when he partners No Woman No Cry in the Great Northern Cup Super Maiden Plate (1600m).
โNo Woman No Cry has only had the one start at Newcastle and while he was down the track that event I think he can improve on Thursday,โ Clark said.
โHeโs had a number of trials before over a long period of time before his debut and thereโs no doubt that heโll be better for the race experience.โ
Clark links with the Ron Quinton-trained first starter Unleash Harry in the Absolut & Sprite RTDS C,G&E Maiden Handicap (1100m).
โHeโs a Harry Angel gelding on debut and heโs had two trials and ran well in the latest of them,โ Clark said. โIโm sure Ronnie [Quinton] will have him primed to run well.โ
The mount on the Nacim Dilmi-prepared Riga awaits in the Vodka Cruiser Cup Provincial Maiden Handicap (1300m).
Riga had been placed in a couple of starts on end before losing its rider at Gosford last time out when sent out as favourite.
โHeโs a horse that has shown talent, and although he has a wide barrier to contend with, he looks well up to running a good race,โ Clark said. โHis two recent placings have been sound.โ
Clarkโs other ride is the Jason Deamer-trained Dollars in the Jim Beam Cup Conditional Benchmark 68 Handicap (2000m). Dollars won at Taree two starts ago.
โJason has the team racing very well and Dollars has shown a bit in his career,โ Clark said.
โHeโs got the two wins and four placings to his name from 12 starts and the win at Taree was very impressive.
โHe took on Midway company at Randwick at his latest start and while he ran eighth, he wasnโt disgraced. Heโll be on speed and the 2000m should suit.โ
