Scone horseman Brett Cavanough is banking on weight of numbers to give his stable a successful day at Gunnedah on Sunday.
Cavanough, who trains in partnership with daughter Georgie, will be represented by 12 starters over the course of the nine-race card at Gunnedah, with Indifference lining up in the Manion Drilling Gunnedah Showcase Cup (1600m), and event which carries Big Dance eligibility.
โItโs not going to be an easy race lining up against Tavros,โ said Cavanough.
โBut Indifference has ability on his day, and it was an improved effort at Scone at his latest start.
โHe went around in the Wellington Cup and Tamworth Cup and was down the track in both of them, but he is capable at his best and Iโm hoping he can run a good race.โ
Kody Nestor will ride Indifference, with the jockey also partnering Currumbin Alley in the Pursehouse Rural Gunnedah Class 1 & Maiden Showcase Plate (2150m).
โHeโs been racing well with three straight second placings to his name,โ Cavanough said.
โThe jockey [Andrew Adkins] got off him last time out at Scone when he ran over a mile and said get him over more ground so thatโs what weโve done.
โHe is knocking on the door to break through with a win.โ
Cavanough will start Honniball Drive (Jasmine Urquhart-Warren) and Sweet Leaf (Luke Rolls) in the Cool Blue Ice 2YO Showcase Handicap (1000m), while Daisy Duck (Ben Looker) will contest the C L Rural Showcase Super Maiden Plate (1400m) having finished a last start second as favourite at Mudgee.
Water Lad (Rolls) and Arapawa (Urquhart-Warren) will contest the Haires Bus Service Country Boosted Benchmark 58 Showcase Handicap (1250m), while Looker partners Iknowyou in the Ultrafleet Country Boosted Benchmark 58 Showcase Handicap (1250m).
The final event of the day, the Courthouse Hotel Gunnedah Lightning Showcase Handicap (1000m) will feature four Cavanough runners with Rhythm Is A Dancer (Urquhart-Warren), Hellcibell (Looker), Vierville (Jenny Duggan) and Harbour Gold (Rolls) all in action.
โVierville has been racing well with a couple of recent wins and has drawn the inside gate which should suit,โ said Cavanough.
