Property owners who believe their assessments are unfair, especially those with unrepaired damage from Hurricane Helene, are encouraged to request a review.
Caldwell County has finished its state-mandated property revaluation for 2025, with property owners receiving their new appraised values by mail.ย
This revaluation process, which began after the 2021 assessment, involved field visits, aerial reviews and permit follow-ups to ensure accurate property valuations.
According to Tax Administrator Josh Angle, the new appraisals reflect 100% of market value. These values will be crucial as cities, towns, fire districts and the county begin their budget planning.
Assistant County Manager and Register of Deeds, Wayne Rash, emphasized that an increase in property value does not necessarily mean a proportional increase in taxes. Tax rates for each jurisdiction will be decided in June.
Property owners who believe their assessments are unfair, especially those with unrepaired structural damage from Hurricane Helene, are encouraged to request a review. Reviews can be requested through the countyโs website or by calling the Tax Department.
