
Over the weekend, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol arrested over 130 people in Operation Charlotte’s Web.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. โ The Department of Homeland Security announced out of theย over 130 people arrested by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents, 44 has previous criminal records.ย
Some of the previous convictions include driving under the influence, hit-and-run, assault and battery. Two arrested are allegedly known gang members, according to DHS.ย
No information has been officially released about the other 86+ arrests made by Border Patrol agents.ย
Here is the statement from DHS:ย
“Today the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released just some of the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens arrested this weekend during Operation Charlotteโs Web. This immigration enforcement operation surge in the Charlotte area resulted in the arrest of over 130 illegal aliens in just two days.
Among those taken into custody are 44 criminal illegal aliens whose criminal records include aggravated assault, assault with a dangerous weapon, assault on a police officer, battery, driving under the influence, and hit-and-run. Arrests also included two known gang members.
โThere is absolutely no excuse to continue allowing criminal illegal aliens to terrorize our American communities,โ said a DHS spokesperson. โThese are violent assailants, gang members, and repeat offenders who have zero regard for the rule of law in our country. They are here illegally and should never have been here in the first place. Under President Trump and Secretary Noem, we are REMOVING the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens from our communities once and for all.โ”ย
