A legislative committee on Tuesday tabled House Bill 98, known as the โPatriot Expression Act.โ The bill could allow North Carolinians to buy a wider variety of fireworks in the state, where bottle rockets, roman candles and firecrackers are currently banned.
Despite North Carolinaโs ban on certain fireworks, they are regularly used in North Carolina because people drive to South Carolina โ which has looser firework laws โ and bring them back to the Tar Heel state.
