Jockey Jason Collett will tune up for Saturdayโs final day of The Championships at Randwick when he heads to Gosford on Thursday for just the one ride.
Collett has rides in three of the four Group 1s this weekend, in addition to a number of other quality rides on the Randwick card.
But he will first combine with the stable of form trainer David Pfieffer at Gosford when partnering Call Me Sassy in the Sneddon Bros Class 1 Handicap (1200m).
โSheโs a mare Iโve had a bit to do with, and I have quite a good opinion of her,โ Collett said of Call Me Sassy, which is a four-year-old mare by Zoustar.
Call Me Sassy has had four starts for a win and three minor placings. Collett has been aboard in three of those runs, including a maiden win at Hawkesbury at her second start, with the jockeyโs sister, Alysha, being in the saddle on the other occasion.
โRight from her first trial she has shown plenty,โ said Collett.
โShe ran in a handy maiden on debut and then broke through at her second start last October.
โShe wasnโt beaten far at all when third in her next two starts before being spelled and sheโs had two trials to get ready for Thursdayโs return to racing.โ
Rachel King rode Call Me Sassy to a fifth in a Warwick Farm trial on March, before Collett was aboard for another Warwick Farm fifth on March 20.
โSheโs ready to return and Iโm looking forward to seeing what she can do under race conditions again,โ Collett said.
One of Collettโs Group 1 rides on Saturday will be the Kris Lees trained Satono Invader in the Asahi Super Dry Australian Oaks (2400m), with the filly on the back-up after a third in last Saturdayโs Adrian Knox Stakes at Randwick.
Lees will have Chisato line up against Call Me Sassy at Gosford, with Tyler Schiller to ride the filly that is in the same ownership as Satono Invader.
Chisato was a last-start winner on the Beaumont track at Newcastle, when Tom Sherry was in the saddle.
