WASHINGTON, D.C., USA โ House representatives from North Carolina are heading to the State of the Union tonight and they’re bringing guests to join them.ย
Rep. Deborah Ross invited North Carolina Supreme Court Justice Anita Earls. Justice Earls was a civil rights attorney then elected to the state Supreme Court in 2019. Ross says she invited Earls because of her fight for voting rights.ย
โIn North Carolina and across the country, we are witnessing unprecedented attempts to erode voting rights that generations of Americans fought for,” Ross said in a statement. “Now more than ever, we must preserve the bedrock of our democracy. Justice Earls has been a fighter for our rights and freedoms for decades.โ
Ross represents NC-02, which covers most of Wake County.ย
Rep. Pat Harrigan invited conservative social media influencer Matt Van Swol.ย
