Selections based on a good track
Race 1
2. Bubbles Up looks suited to run a big race on debut on the back of a couple of trials including the latest over 1030m at Rosehill. From the inside gate she’s going to be either in front or in the box seat and that’s a pretty good head start. 4. Helluva Kiss hit the line nicely on debut at Wyong a couple of weeks ago in a promising effort. Where she goes from the outside is going to be interesting but happy to keep her safe. 8. Spice Prawn has had a few chances and did enjoy a good run when fourth at Warwick Farm in what might be a solid maiden won by Journeyman. Must include in main chances.

Race 2
3. Hay Street did some early work to cross in front at Warwick Farm first-up and bumped into Journeyman. Sent out favourite in that race and while beaten he wasn’t disgraced. Fitter and drawn nicely. Entitled to be favourite. The one to beat. 6. Peleus was well-supported when he resumed at Gosford earlier in the month and found himself buried back in the field before bursting through late to get under half a length from the winner. Could be a threat to his stablemate. 2. Brickowski is out of a Group 1 winning mare and he picked them up to win a trial at Randwick last week. Interesting runner and one to keep an eye on.

Race 3
9. Fireball Miss did start a big price on debut but she was pretty hard to miss running on nicely behind Journeyman at Warwick Farm. That was 1200m so the extra trip will suit and she’s drawn to not be too far off them. If she improves, she’s a good chance. 2. Double Vision fought hard when challenged after leading at Warwick Farm three weeks ago. Imagine he goes forward from the wide gate and could be harder to run down. 1. Decalogue resumes having shown a bit of promise in his first preparation. Interesting to see him kick off at 1500m, he’s trialled well and should be kept safe.
How to play it: Fireball Miss WIN.
Race 4
3. Stylebender was a strong winner last week at Warwick Farm and there’s no reason to think he couldn’t repeat. A strong stayer, generally holds his form and with the claim is still right down in the weights. Has won at the trip and go well again. 5. Lunar Lover won at this trip by a big space two starts ago at Kembla then up to this class he was game when outpointed by Assailant two weeks ago. He’d be one of the chances again. 2. Centenario hasn’t been tried at the staying trip but did finish strongly to score over 1900m at Canterbury second-up. Might be a bit closer now up in trip from the inside gate.
How to play it: Stylebender WIN.
Race 5
2. Banjora has done nothing wrong winning both starts at Gosford and looked to do it pretty well after he squeezed through on the fence. Strong late and can only be better for the win. Shouldn’t be too far away from the inside and good chance to measure up. 7. Fierce is another bringing two provincial wins to town and he rounded up four rivals when scoring at Wyong two weeks back. Up and comer who looks to have some ability. 4. Astronomix did a good job to win at Kensington on debut then outpointed at Gosford earlier in the month. Down 3kg and James McDonald back on board. Give another chance.
How to play it: Banjora WIN.
Race 6
7. Soverato is a filly on the rise and she sprinted impressively once in the clear to win at Canterbury first-up at 1550m. Staying around that trip but does look to get a nice run just behind the speed and have her chance to be produced late. Will be hard to beat. 6. Little Iris was too good on debut a bit over a month ago then might have run into a handy one when run down by Decorum, who has won since, at Warwick Farm. Very well-bred and will appreciate an extra 100m. Respect. 1. Pillow Fight is not far off a win and her form is looking handy after running second to Cinsault two starts back. She was game on pace when run down late by Emballee at Canterbury. Sure to be competitive.

Race 7
5. Pictor will be hard to beat first-up with blinkers on. Kept improving through his second campaign running fourth in a Listed race before a spell. Trialled well against open class horses in his second trial, draws one and trip suits fresh. 4. Mamuskha led and won first-up before running well on Magic Millions Day. Beaten as an odds-on favourite at Warwick Farm on Australia Day when not able to lead. Imagine she looks to find the front from the outside and could take running down. 2. Fiddlers Green ran a nice race when resuming at Kensington a month ago and gets some weight relief with the claim. Blinkers go on and if he can hold his form he’ll be in the finish.
How to play it: Pictor WIN
Best Bets: Race 6 (7) Soverato; Race 7 (5) Pictor.
Best Value: Race 4 (3) Stylebender.
