This comes after Rockingham and Guilford move forward with reviewing Berger’s protests.
GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — Senator Phil Berger has formally requested a hand recount of the votes in the race for the Senate District 26 seat in the race against Sheriff Sam Page.
This comes just one day after Guilford and Rockingham County officials said that they found probable cause to move forward with evidentiary hearings regarding protests filed by Phil Berger.
It also comes after after recounts wrapped up Thursday in Rockingham County and Wednesday in Guilford County, showing no change in the outcome of the North Carolina Senate District 26 Republican Primary between Sam Page and Phil Berger.
Page maintains a 23-vote lead.
