President Donald Trump is coming to North Carolina this week to campaign for U.S. Senate candidate Michael Whatley.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit North Carolina this week, Republican U.S. Senate candidate Michael Whatley announced.
Whatley, the former Republican National Committee chairman, was endorsed by Trump this summer. Should he win the GOP primary, Whatley would face former Gov. Roy Cooper. The candidates are vying for the Senate seat being vacated by Sen. Thom Tillis.
Whatley called on his supporters to give Trump a resounding “North Carolina welcome.”
“Let’s give him the North Carolina welcome he deserves,” Whatley wrote on X.
Whatley’s post included a link for guests to sign up to attend. The event is scheduled to take place at the Rocky Mount Events Center in Rocky Mount, NC, east of Raleigh. No further details were provided.
Trump was last in North Carolina in June, when he visited Fort Bragg. Trump won North Carolina all three times he ran for president.
