COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio will be in the thick of the battle for control of the United States House of Representatives in the midterm elections.
Democrats are attempting to gain control of the House back from Republicans.
For the third straight election cycle, Ohio will have 15 seats in Congress — the state’s smallest delegation since before the Civil War. However, 2026 will see the state utilize newly-drawn House district maps following a last-minute agreement between Democrats and the Ohio General Assembly’s Republican supermajority.
Analysts say the new maps could give the GOP a greater advantage in two crucial districts and Dems a boost in the other, with the remaining 12 considered heavily partisan.
Before the general election, though, we have to get through the primaries on May 5.
