Forrestania Resources has delivered a solid 21 per cent increase to its British Hill gold resource, lifting the deposit’s total inventory to 212,400 ounces as it assembles the building blocks for a major two-hub gold production business in Western Australia.
The updated mineral resource estimate for the project now stands at 4.12 million tonnes grading 1.6 grams per tonne (g/t) gold for a total of 212,400 ounces using a 0.5g/t gold cutoff. Notably, the update includes a significant 37 per cent increase in the higher-confidence indicated resource category, which now accounts for 138,100 ounces, or about two-thirds of the total deposit.
The upgrade incorporated results from 15 holes of an ongoing 3685 metre reverse-circulation drilling campaign, which has already served up one hole with an eye-catching 59-metre intersection grading 2.38g/t gold from 123m. Three RC rigs and one diamond rig are still turning rods at the project, focused on extending mineralisation along strike and down-dip.
Within the project’s global resource, a recently landed British Hill prefeasibility study also points to a maiden ore reserve at British Hill of 1.56 million tonnes at 1.43g/t gold for 71,900 ounces, capable of generating A$104.8 million in pre-tax free cash flow for a restart capital of just $16.1M.

The expanding ounce-count is expected to feed directly into Forrestania’s ambitious strategy of creating a significant West Australian gold production business powered by two key processing hubs, the 2.9-million-tonne-per-annum Edna May plant and the 3.2-million-tonne-per-annum Lake Johnston facility.

The company is running a textbook hub-and-spoke playbook, consolidating a portfolio of satellite gold deposits to funnel ore to its soon-to-be operating mills. This approach allows Forrestania to potentially fast-track development, avoiding the significant capital and time required to construct new processing plants from scratch.
Anchoring the company’s ambitions is the Edna May project, where a recent prefeasibility study outlined a robust 10-year operation. The study defined an ore reserve of 12.6 million tonnes at 0.99g/t gold for 402,800 ounces and projected it could spin off a hefty $728.7 million in pre-tax free cash flow across the mine’s decade-long life. The numbers are based on a $98 million to get the mine up and running and an all-in sustaining cost of A$3293 per ounce, assuming a gold price of A$5500 per ounce.
Alongside the Edna May and British Hill studies, Forrestania has also been advancing its other satellite deposits, landing additional prefeasibility studies for its Tycho and Johnson Range projects.
Demonstrating its intent to move quickly, the company has already started trucking ore from British Hill to its Lake Johnston facility to accelerate near-term production. However, while Lake Johnston offers the early processing option, the long-term plan is for British Hill ore to be treated at the larger Edna May plant.
The Lake Johnston facility is currently undergoing a significant overhaul to bring it back online, while the flagship Edna May plant is scheduled for a restart in early 2027 after new mill liners are installed. Once both are operational, Forrestania will command a formidable combined processing capacity exceeding six million tonnes per annum.
The company’s rapid progress has not gone unnoticed. Forrestania recently announced it will be included in the influential VanEck Junior Gold Miners ETF. An inclusion in the widely followed fund is a significant nod from the global investment community and is likely to put the company on the radar of a much broader international audience.
While today’s resource bump at British Hill is a solid win on its own, it’s the bigger picture that is likely to turn heads. The company is no longer just an explorer, but is rapidly assembling the assets, infrastructure and economic studies of a multi-hub gold producer.
With the Edna May project as Forrestania’s solid foundation, a conga line of satellite deposits such as British Hill being lined up to feed two refurbished mills and the backing of a major global ETF, the company is building a compelling story that will likely command attention from serious market watchers in a bullish gold market.
