Transport for NSW has warned thousands of fans travelling to Accor Stadium tonight to expect delays on public transport due to several incidents on the heavy rail network.
Urgent track repairs at Lidcombe station have delayed train services on the T2 Leppington & Inner West Line, T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line, T5 Cumberland Line, T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line, T7 Olympic Park Line, as well as the Blue Mountains Line.
Delays are expected to continue into the evening peak period, and commuters should allow for extra travel time, a spokesperson said.
While trains continue to run through the affected area, services may leave from different platforms or stop on platforms or in between stations for longer than normal. Some passengers may also need to change trains to continue their journey.
Lidcombe is a major station on the Sydney Trains network. It acts as a key transport hub connecting four train lines, and also is the only station with a direct service to Sydney Olympic Park, the closest station within walking distance to Accor Stadium.
Additionally, passengers on the T1 North Shore & Western Line should allow extra travel time due to urgent train repairs at Turramurra earlier.
